A context-aware application is presented that provides context depended information to the visitors of a museum as an experiment. This application uses the productivity of the Java platform alongwith the niversal connectivity of Bluetooth wireless technology together. The the overall architecture is described along with the implementation details step by step to create our Bluetooth and Java based context aware application. Also a small test-bed is created for evaluation and analysis.

ubiquitous computing means making available many computing devices throughout the physical environment, while making them effectively invisible to the user . context aware computing is very much related to ubiquitous computing. The application described here provides context depended information to the visitors of a museum. The system provides to the user the precise information on what they are viewing, in their own language and in their level of understanding. A GUI is also adapted to their device which maybe a mobile phones, PDAs, or laptops.

The Experimental Application
the following salient characteristics are present in the application:
Java based implementation
Java APIs were used for Bluetooth wireless technology

SQL Database support
all the available information related to the art objects are organized directly into a file system

a dynamic and variable number of images and text must be delivered by the application. format and arrangement of the information delivered also must vary.

Scatternet support
more than seven visitors maybe viewing a same piece of art . These caqn be more than a piconet. a scatternet formation algorithm will be included to connect several piconets to form a scatternet.
