 Potentially an inexhaustible supply of energy
 Can be produced from several primary energy sources
 Reduced dependence on petroleum imports if produced from coal or renewables

 High energy conversion efficiency by use of H2 in Fuel Cells(UPTO 90%) in place of I.C. engines (30-35%)
 Efficiency is high.Because no fuel is burned to make energy, fuel cells are fundamentally more efficient than combustion systems

 Hydrogen gas is highly flammable
 It will burn in air at a very wide range of concentrations b/w 4% and 75% by volume

 Hydrogen is a secondary energy resource, meaning it must be made from another fuel.

* A chemical process in which bonded
elements and compounds are dissociated by the passage of electric current.
 Example:
Electrolysis of water
2H2O + energy = 2H2 + 2O2
